2006 Starboard (Port)
This is a sweet, full bodied dessert wine that retains the classic notes of the Syrah grape. It's great by itself or with desserts, and pairs very well with robust cheeses. It's made in the classic Port style. But because of recent regulation changes, we can't call it Port, so we're calling it Starboard.

Syrah grapes were hand harvested on 8/24/06 at a Brix of 31 degrees. The grapes were fermented 3.5 days to a Brix of 12.5 degrees. The wine was pressed and barrel aged for 30 months with only one racking. Alcohol 18.5%. Sierra Foothills.
